Production Process of Diamond Wheel for Glass Straight Edging Machine

1. Raw Material Preparation

Select synthetic diamond powder with specific particle size, metal alloy powder (bond matrix: copper, tin, nickel, iron, etc.) and functional additives. The material ratio is calculated precisely according to the wheel’s application scenarios, including rough grinding, semi-finishing and finishing diamond wheels. All powdered materials are fully and uniformly mixed in a professional powder mixer to ensure consistent component distribution.

2. Mold Pressing Forming

Put the uniformly mixed composite powder into a custom steel mold matching the structural size of the diamond wheel. Adopt a hydraulic pressing machine to apply constant and stable pressure, so that the loose powder is compacted and molded into a preliminary diamond wheel blank with complete outline and regular shape.

3. High-temperature Sintering

Place the pressed wheel blank into a vacuum sintering furnace or inert gas protection furnace for high-temperature sintering treatment. Under precise temperature and time control, the metal matrix powder is partially melted and tightly wraps the diamond particles. After natural cooling and solidification, a high-integrity solid diamond wheel body is formed, ensuring firm combination between diamond abrasive grains and the metal base.

4. Precision Machining

Carry out precision turning, milling and grinding processes on professional lathes and grinding machines. Accurately process the outer diameter, central mounting hole, overall thickness and edge profile of the diamond wheel. Strictly control dimensional tolerance and geometric accuracy to make the wheel perfectly matched with the spindle of glass straight edging machines, meeting industrial assembly and processing standards.

5. Dynamic Balancing Treatment

Mount the preliminarily machined diamond wheel on a dynamic balancing machine for full inspection and calibration. Correct unbalanced weight and structural deviation effectively. This process eliminates vibration during high-speed operation of the wheel, guarantees stable glass edging performance, and avoids edge chipping and processing defects of glass products.

6. Quality Inspection and Performance Testing

Conduct comprehensive quality tests on finished wheels, including hardness detection, diamond concentration inspection, dimensional accuracy verification and surface appearance inspection. Meanwhile, conduct actual machine debugging tests on a glass straight edging machine to verify the glass edge grinding effect, abrasion resistance and operational stability, and screen out qualified products.

7. Cleaning and Packaging

Thoroughly clean residual metal powder and machining debris on the surface of qualified diamond wheels. After drying and finishing, paste specification labels and adopt professional dust-proof and shock-proof packaging. The finished products are stored in a standardized environment to facilitate subsequent transportation, sales and industrial application.
